Sammy Lynn Richardson, 48 of 2005 Hope Street Sanford, NC passed on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his residence.

SAMMY LYNN RICHARDSON, a descendant of Earl Richardson, Sr. and Symertee Richardson, was born February 17, 1969 in Lee County, North Carolina. He was raised in the home of “his mother,” Annie Richardson Dowdy.

He attended the Lee County Schools and was employed by Classic Nissan of Sanford, NC.

He was a jovial person and never met a stranger. In the early hours of Tuesday, July 11, 2017, he exchanged the tedious toils of this world for the eternal joy and everlasting rest of God. We are grateful to God for his life and true legacy.

The precious memories of Sammy’s life will be forever esteemed to his children, Deshaun Richardson, Brandon Richardson, Shauntae Davis, all of Sanford, NC, Shydasha Jones of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Kadijah French and Justin Richardson of Sanford, NC; his grandchildren, “the loves of his heart” Naasir Jones, Noel Jones, Kamori McLean, and Kyree Carrington; his parents, Annie R. Dowdy (James), Symertee Richardson, Earl Richardson, Sr. (Elizabeth); his siblings, Sandra Faye Wise of Sanford, NC, Earl Richardson, Jr. (Sharonda) of Sanford, NC, Tonya Richardson of Huntsville, AL, Renee McLean of Fayetteville, NC, Sarah Dowdy of Cameron, NC, Scott Richardson (Nichole) of Killeen, TX, Shonda Richardson of Sanford, NC, Hawanna Richardson of Sanford, NC, and Natalie Richardson of Sanford, NC; his step-siblings include Bessie Richardson (Stevie) of Broadway, NC, Kenny Lyons, Rickey Lyons, Dottie Wilson (Mark), Pam Lyons (Bobbie), Lisa Lyons (Greg), Angela Lyons all of Sanford NC; and Karen McSwain of Greensboro, NC; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; including a special cousin, Marcus Cox; and friends, including Willie Dean.
