William Orin Mergenthal

Mr. William Mergenthal, age 81 passed on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Liberty Commons Nursing And Rehabilitation Center, Sanford, NC.

On Saturday, December 9, 2017 William “Bill” Merganthal, age 81 of Sanford, NC and Rock Island, IL. passed away. He also lived in many places in the world. “Bill” was a graduate of Colorado School of Mines and among employers he worked at Aeroget Space, Vice President at Brown International; president of Cambridge Communications Corp.; president and owner of QAS Systems, a computer software company.

He was surrounded by family including his wife, Andrea Abbott Mergenthal; stepsons, Jeffrey Abbott and wife, (Michelle) and Richard Abbott and wife,(Michelle). He leaves four step grandchildren: Mitchell, Matthew, Sydney and Katherine Abbott.

Donations may be made to Catholic Charities or St. Stephens Church.

The family wishes to thank Liberty Home and Hospice Care and Liberty Commons for their attention and care.
