Samuel Lee McLean

Mr. Samuel Lee McLean, age 77 of 1616 Prosperity Lane, Sanford, NC, passed on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Duke Hospital, Durham, NC.

Samuel Lee McLean was born February 9, 1940, to the union of Earnest and Dora McLean in Maxton, NC. Samuel peacefully went home to take his eternal rest on January 14, 2018 at Duke University Hospital.

Sam, as he was known to all, was a hardworking family man, and he worked for many many years until his health started to decline.

Sam was preceded in death by his loving wife of 28 years, Elsie Bethune; three sisters, Janie Mae, Louvenia and Delois, and one brother, Howard.

He leaves to cherish his memories two brothers, Earl McLean of Graham, NC, and Michael Smith of Sanford, NC; one brother-in-law, Clifton “Snook” Ferguson of Sanford, NC; eight stepchildren and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

The family will receive family and friends at 2421 Shawnee Drive, Sanford, NC
