Yolanda Denise Henry

On Sunday, March 14, 2021, Yolanda Denise Henry entered into rest at Central Carolina Hospital at the age of 63.

She was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on June 11, 1957, the daughter of Bernard and Mary Bruce. During her youth, the family moved to Newburgh, New York. She received her education from Montgomery Street School, North Junior High School, and Newburgh Free Academy. She attended and graduated from Hudson Valley Opportunity Industrialization Center (HVOIC) in Dutchess and Orange County and became a Welder. She also attended Casino School Institute (CSI), in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where she became a trained  Black Jack and Craps Dealer.

She was united in holy matrimony to her beloved husband Danny Henry for 39 years. They raised two children, Londa Bruce and Danny Henry Jr. (deceased). They resided in Pleasantville, New Jersey for 15 years before relocating to Sanford, North Carolina.

In Sanford, she became a Certified Nurses Aide and was previously employed at  Silcox Nursing Home and River Valley Nursing Home.

Yolanda was affectionately known as “Yondie” to her siblings and friends. She had a giving loving spirit. She reached out to assist anyone who needed her help. She had a witty personality with a dry sense of humor, when she entered a room she would bring laughter to all. She loved to macrame’ and to attend to her plants. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to her and that was sitting on her front porch with her grand-daughter Talia and family dog Bella at her side.
