Willie Mae (Pattisall) Williams

Mrs. Willie Mae Pattisall Williams, age 90 of Pittsboro, NC,  transitioned into eternal rest at her home on February 26, 2021. Willie Mae was born on December 24, 1930, in Chatham County, North Carolina to the late Mr. Fred Moore and the late Mrs. Willie Mae Moore.

A life-long native of Chatham County, Willie Mae accepted Christ at an early age and joined Staunton Memorial C.M.E. Church in Pittsboro, NC where she was an active and dedicated member until her health declined. Willie Mae served her church in several capacities. She was a dedicated member of the Senior Choir, member of the Kitchen Committee, and the Helping Hand Ministry.

She was educated in the Chatham County Schools and graduated from Horton High School.  Willie Mae was married to Mr. Russell Williams for over 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ms. Mary Catherine Alston and her best friend Ms. Helen Dark.

A consummate mother and homemaker, Willie Mae was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was well known for her sweet potato pie and potato salad. Willie Mae had several favorite past times such as: cooking and spending time with family. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, neighbor and friend. She enjoyed nurturing people and caring for those that needed her help the most.

Willie Mae was employed by UNC hospitals and retired with 30 years of service.

She leaves to cherish in passing, her husband, Mr. Russell Williams of the home, her daughter, Ms. Willie Ann Pattisall of Pittsboro, NC; three grandchildren: Mr. Roderick Alston and Mr. Kendrick Alston of Pittsboro, NC, and Ms. Jacqueline Pattisall of Chapel Hill, NC, two great-grandsons, Mr. Patrick Alston and Mr. Roderick Alston of Pittsboro, NC, Two nieces, Ms. Catherine Moore of Pittsboro, NC, Ms. Jennifer A. Brooks, of Hillsborough, NC, two nephews, Mr. Earl Brooks and Mr. Burton Moore Jr. of Pittsboro, NC, and other relatives and friends.
