Mr. William Van Trusell, age 55 of Sanford, NC transitioned to eternal rest on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at his residence.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. William Van Trusell, who entered into eternal rest on February 15, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on June 17, 1969, in Sanford, NC, William was the beloved son of William Trusell and the late Margie Ryant Trusell.
William was educated in the Lee County school system and graduated from Lee Senior High School. A true jack-of-all-trades, he excelled in various fields, including barbering, forklift operation, and design, with a special talent for reading and drawing blueprints. His skills were as diverse as his personality—full of warmth, humor, and a deep love for those around him. Known as a natural comedian, William had a special way of bringing joy and laughter to everyone he met.
Above all, he will be remembered as a loving, caring, and dedicated father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. As the big brother of the Ryant and Trusell families, he was a pillar of strength and guidance.
William joined Star of Hope Original Baptist Church and was baptized On December 14, 2024, and received the right hand of fellowship shortly after.
William was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Margie Ryant Trusell.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Christopher Antonio Daye of Augusta, GA, Ursula Skyy Goldston, and Destinee Lashae Coley of Sanford, NC; his father, William Trusell of Sanford, NC; and his cherished grandsons, Jackson Montell Flowers, Caedan Amar Daye, and Cynser Ahson Daye. He is also survived by his siblings, Tracey Quick and Anthony Trusell; his aunts, Bessie Tysor (Pat), Javaline Raines (Charles), and Margie Trusell all of Sanford, NC and Nettie Trusell of Queens Village New York; his uncles, Raymond Harrington (Juanita) of Yonkers, NY, and Clyde Green of Sanford, NC; great uncle, Donald White. In addition, William leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, including a very special friend, Cynthia Williams.
William’s presence, laughter, and love will forever be missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
