William Howard Rogers, Jr.

Mr. William Howard Rogers, Jr. age 67 of Pittsboro, NC transitioned into eternal rest on September 14, 2022, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill, NC. 

Obituary:

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:11)

There comes a time in life when we must answer the call of our heavenly father. This time came for William Howard Rogers, Jr. on September 14, 2022. William a.k.a. “Boochie” or “BooJack” was born on July 15, 1955, to Ruby Lee McNeil and William Howard Rogers Sr. He received his education through Wake County Schools. William worked for many companies over the course of his life including Webster Poultry, Rex Hospital, Southeastern Tool & Machines, Harris Teeter, UNC Wellness Center, Domino’s Pizza, and Carolina Dining Services at UNC Chapel Hill where he remained for 12 years before retiring in 2020. William met his soulmate Anita Rene Rone a.k.a. “Woman” early on in life and they were together for 38 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ruby Lee McNeil and William Howard Rogers, Sr.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his wife as he called her Anita Rone; his children William Hopson (Antinette), Dimitri Rone, Pamela Rone of Greensboro, NC, and Raquan Rone; six grandchildren: Zonyea, Virginia, Ruby, Khalani, Andreas and Prince; two great-grandchildren; three aunts: Mary Gilbert and Shirley French of Apex, NC, and Deborah Thornton of Maryland; two uncles: Marvin McNeil of Apex, NC, and Robert McNeil of Holly Springs, NC; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of many others relatives and special friends including but not limited to Timothy Flynn, Amber Mohelski, Pete Rozzel, and Deanne Jackson.

God saw the road had gotten rough with hills, too hard to climb, so he gently closed his weary eyes and whispered, “Peace Be Thine.”
