Willard (Willie) Williams

Mr. Willard (Willie) Williams, age 82 of 7810 Pittsboro Moncure Rd, Moncure, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, January 24, 2020 at his residence.

Willard Williams, affectionately known as Willie was born on March 17, 1937 to Seaman and Flonnie Williams who preceded him in death. He departed this life on Friday, January 24, 2020 unexpectedly but peacefully at home.

Willie was born and raised in Chatham County where he attended Horton High School.   Willie had eight siblings. Willie was preceded in death by his siblings Edward, Connell, Mozella and Bernice.

Willie is survived by his siblings Cozetta (Gus) of Washington, DC, Carolyn of New Hill, NC, Ida of Moncure, NC and Harry of Philadelphia, PA.

He remained active in his home church, Liberty Chapel until his time of death singing in the Male Chorus. If you ever worshipped with him in church, you’ll always have fond memories of him doing his Sunday praise dancing. Never meeting a stranger, he was always ready to share a laugh or a stick of gum.

Although he never had any kids of his own, he always enjoyed his special relationships with his nieces and nephews including his great and great-great nieces and nephews who he always had a dollar or two for. Willie had many friends in the community as well as from past places of employment including Moncure Plywood Plant, Bill Jones Tire and Lowes Foods. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
