Vivian Jeanette Lee

Ms. Vivian Lee, age 88 of Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at her residence. 

Vivian Jeanette Lee was born December 7, 1934, to the late Dorothy and David Toomer in Chatham County, NC.

Vivian received her education in the Chatham County Public Schools. Vivian worked for Baltimore City Hospitals and Goodwill until she retired to care for her daughter, Antoinette Lee.

She enjoyed gardening and canning fruit and vegetables. Vivian loved making jokes and gossiping.

Some of Vivian’s favorite hobbies were shopping canning fruits and vegetables, cooking, and finding out the latest tea with friends and family. She had a raw and crazy personality.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee; two daughters, Amanda Lee and Antoinette Lee; one son, Donald Lee; two sisters, Nettie Mae Brooks and Evelyn Rories; and two brothers, Thomas Toomer and Raymond Lassiter.

She is survived by her sons, James Lee and Jarvis Lee of Broadway, NC; one daughter, Valerie Goldston (John) of Bear Creek, NC; eight grandchildren,  Cotenia Lee of Danville, VA, Reginald Eggleston of Baltimore, MD, Tinear Ghee and Nakisha Ghee of Danville, VA, Donald Lee of Baltimore, MD, Jaime Williams of Rockingham, NC, and Latoria Moring of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Emma Lucille Thomas of Queens, NY; her favorite niece, Butch Toomer; and a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends.
