Tyrese Wicker Obituary

Mr. Tyrese Marquel Wicker, age 20 of Sanford, NC transitioned to eternal rest on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

The Obituary

Tyrese Marquel Wicker came into this world on a refreshing spring day, filling our lives with joy and love. It was on April 02, 2003, that we welcomed Tyrese into our family. All too soon, he departed this earthly realm on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Tyrese is our son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Although he is considered the knee baby, he is his momma’s baby boy and is indeed precious in her eyes. Daily and constantly, his loud and heavy voice could be heard echoing “Ma” or “Mama” throughout the house. To his baby sister, Jakirah, he is strong and brave. She adores her big brother, and he cherished his baby sister. She will forever treasure their memories. To his big brother, Maurice “Tiger”, Tyrese is the big, baby brother. Tyrese loved his big brother, and he knew that Tiger loved him. This is why he often threw temper tantrums, which only the baby can do. And like a true big brother, Tiger most often allowed it because a brother’s bond is unique, complicated, unconditional, supreme, and knows no earthly or spiritual boundaries. Tyrese’s love and admiration for his brother were evident in how much he doted upon his niece and nephew: Maliyah and Major Wicker.

In his short life, he left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was loved and admired by his family and friends. Tyrese was passionate, daring, and headstrong. Yet, he was loving and quite comical. He received his formal education from the Lee County School System. Tyrese was a talented young man. He was a lyricist and used his creative talents to freestyle and create music. Tyrese dreamed of becoming an artist one day.

Tyrese was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jesse Watson and Marcelene Minter; paternal great-grandmother, Alice Williams; and his big sister, Jasmine Wicker. We can only imagine the loving embrace shared by Tyrese and Jasmine on that Saturday. The years of sadness and missing each other were realized in that instance. But it is God’s plan, that Tyrese is now in the comfort and protection of his big sister.

Left to cherish his memories and celebrate his life are his parents, Micheal and Shonda Moncrease and Timothy Maurice Wicker, all of Sanford NC; siblings, Maurice Wicker, Jakirah Moncrease, Kaliyah Wicker, Desmond Wicker, and Timothy Wicker, all of Sanford, NC; paternal grandmother, Barbara Cabey; paternal grandfather, Kenny Wicker (Mary) all of Sanford, NC; uncles, Travis Watson (Tonia), Keith Williams (Stephanie) all of Sanford, NC and Kenneth Wicker Jr. (Tisha) of Winston Salem, NC; aunts, Schricka Johnson (Scott) and Gidget Pulley (Randy) all of Sanford, NC; special cousins, Knowledge Petty, Respect Petty, Noah Wallace and Decarlos Cherry all of Sanford, NC; the love of his life, Lynette Dorsett; and a host of relatives and friends.
