Mr. Tracy Darryl Martin age 63, of Sanford, NC. Tracy was born August 21, 1960. Tracy departed his life to get his room in his Heavenly Home on March 13, 2024, at SECU Jim and Betsy Bryan Hospice Home of UNC Healthcare in Pittsboro, NC.
Tracy was born to the late Walter and Cleo Black Martin.
Tracy graduated with the class of 1979, from Sanford Central High School.
Tracy’s love for his family really amazed me. He was a big gentle giant with a heart of gold. Tracy didn’t meet a stranger. Tracy loved playing his guitar, lead and base for his home church Mount Siani on S. Plank Rd., Washington Ave, and Goldston, NC. Tracy played for First Calvary Baptist, Exousia, and several other well-known groups.
Tracy was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Martin; sister, Brenda Kay Martin; and mother-in-law, Carolyn F. Smith.
Tracy was a man that held on to God’s hand. Tracy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and “Big Guy”.
Tracy leaves to cherish his memories wife, Angela Smith Martin; children, Niya S. Martin, Dejuan, Sharise, and Amanda Smith, all of Sanford, NC; bonus children, Netien Turner of Charlotte, NC and Cailyn Smith of the home; grandchildren, Kyzir(little man), Jalynn, DeKory, DeVon, Dylan, Dylana, Tristan, Ryleigh Louryn, Kaden, Emarri(Biggie), D’Mar(Peanut), and Davian(Big Guy); sisters, Cynthia Williams(Jacob) of Winston Salem, NC, Judith Sharon Bush-Todd(James) of Sanford, NC, Penny Lewis(Jamie) of Pfafftown, NC, and Lisa Sanders of Sanford, NC; brothers, Trevor Martin(Lena) of Australia, Xavier Martin(Wendy), Pinehurst, NC; sisters-in love, Sheila Smith and Saprina “CoCo” (God-daughter) of Sanford, NC; brother in love, Brian “Shan” Smith (Candace) of Sanford, NC; bonus sisters and brothers: Carolyn Perrin (Archie), LaKeitia Dowdy, Cathy Chesney Buck (Micheal), Avis Chesney Pretty (Thomas), Sammy Dowdy (Clara), Larry Dowdy, Marvin Dowdy (Rhonda), Larry Smith (Joyce), and Bruce Petty; one very special friend, miles away but you wouldn’t know that, they talked faithfully every week, Walter “Flip” Spinks; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, family, and friends.
You will be truly missed by many. Tracy, Fly high King!
