Tisha LaShonda Brown

Staff Sergeant Tisha Lashonda Brown, age 41 of Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on March 5, 2023, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital.

Ms. Tisha Brown was born March 23, 1981 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to Ms. Frances Godfrey and Mr. Bobby Brown.

She attended Lee County High School in Sanford, NC and graduated with the class of 1999. She joined the United States Army Reserves in 2007 and reenlisted and went active duty in 2022. Tisha also held various jobs and worked at Caterpillar.

Tisha was a good mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend that will be dearly missed by all. Tisha enjoyed every holiday cooking the ham for family events. She also loved her turnip and collard greens. She was a great friend to many and was loved by everyone she met. She always had a beautiful smile and a great personality, and she loved traveling.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Paxton Brown; grandmothers, Evelyn Snipes; Betty Brown and Fonnie McSwain; grandfather, Bobby Brown Sr.; aunt, Elexis Moore; cousin, Michael Moore Jr.; brother, Bobby Brown Jr.; and best friend, Tarsha Alston.

Tisha leaves to cherish her memories three sons, PFC Damian Brown (Bryanna), LCPL Elijah Brown (Lakisha), and Markel Brown; one daughter, Taliyah Brown; mother, Frances Godfrey; father, Bobby Brown (Annie Brown); sisters, Brittany Brooks (Larry) and Angela Brown; three stepsisters; one stepbrother; one nephew; six nieces; a special niece, Arianna Brown whom she loved dearly; uncles, Roderick McSwain, Le Andrew Brown, Clarence Davenport, Jeff Brown, and Ricky Brown; aunts, Victoria Chesney, Sharon Brown, Linda Johnson, Audrey Baker and Tiandra Brown Roberson; special family members, Rachel Covington (Steve), Eric Richmond, James Richmond, Lorenzo Clegg, and Earl Richmond; special friends, Maria Robinson and Daphane Smith and a host of other relatives and friends.
