Terry Anthony McKendall Sr. was born on February 4, 1962, in Lee County to Bettie R Mckendall and Fredrick Johnson. He departed this life to begin his eternal journey on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at his home in Sanford, North Carolina.
Terry peacefully reunited with Christ in December 2025 at his cherished home church, St. Mark. He’s known for his love of basketball and fishing, he was a beloved member of his community. His vibrant personality and love for socializing made him a joy to be around—truly, to know him was to love him.
He attended WB Wicker School in Sanford, NC, and demonstrated a strong work ethic throughout his life, in a fulfilling career at Hallman Foundry, where he retired in March 2024. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Harriet Taylor (Conanny); his father, Fredrick Johnson; sisters, Carlita McIver (Birdy), Jennifer (Arlene) Morrison; brother, Douglas Burch; grandparents, Willie Mae Mckendall and Thomas Mckendall, Harriet Johnson and James Johnson; and special aunt, Carolyn J. McNeil.
Terry leaves behind cherished memories with his loved ones: mother, Betty Fox; the love of his life, Sheila Womack; sons, Terry McKendall Jr. (Leteta) and Malcom McKendall (Samantha); daughters, Kristina McKendall (Myron) and Bianca Taylor; bonus daughter, Rochelle Quick; the mother of his children and caregiver, Margaret Taylor. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Keanna, Jaquan, Tyric, Laniyah, Saveon, Anasti, Brian, Romelo, Martez, Jocelyn, Miracle, Marod, Legend, and Devin Way; and great-grandchildren: Keyahn, Aariyana, and Jenisis. His siblings include brothers, Paul McKendall (Jessica), Fredrick McKendall, Carlton Fortune (Jessica), and Wayne McKendall (Deloris), and sisters Stephanie Harrington (Alfonzo), Donna McLean (Caltor), Harriet Burch and Jackie McKendall; a very special aunt, Alfreda McKendall of Newark, New Jersey. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, as well as close friends Clarence Hunter, Morgan Smith, John Paul Taylor, James Burch, and Chauensy.
