Taylon Jamar Morrison

Mr. Taylon Jamar Morrison, age 16, of Pittsboro, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, April 3, 2023, surrounded with love at his residence.

Taylon Jamar Morrison was born on September 14, 2006, and departed earthly life on April 3, 2023, at home. Taylon joined Faith Tabernacle Church in Durham, NC. He accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at an early age. He was a member of the youth choir. Taylon attended Durham City Schools. He received his High School diploma from Northwood High School in Pittsboro, NC in Chatham County. Taylon enjoyed school and loved attending when he wasn’t sick.

His favorite teacher is Mrs. Sandra Mann (Donnie) of Durham Public Schools. He loved her for her kindness, mentorship, support, and inspiration for him and his family. Taylon’s favorite subjects in school were science and ancient history. Taylon was awarded the Ambassador of Wonder Science for UNC Hospital. Taylon enjoyed playing basketball, and football, and spending time with his cousins and friends. He had the pleasure of doing the coin toss for the 2019 UNC and Miami football game. Taylon enjoyed participating in the Great Stride Walk for Cystic Fibrosis. His team was called (Taylon the Triumphant One).  Taylon loved to travel and try different seafood cuisines.  His favorite trip was the Disney Cruise, gifted by the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Taylon was admired and often complimented on his love for fashion and style. His sweet spirit shined everywhere he went. Taylon also had a soft spot in his heart for babies.

He was preceded in death by Ava of Durham NC.

Taylon leaves to cherish his memories his grandmother, Joyce Morrison of the home; mother, Tamares Morrison of Durham, NC; three sisters, Jayla and Kamara Morrison, Victoria Jackson-El; one brother, Kamar Barbee; one god sister, Whitney Coffin all of Durham NC; one great grandmother, Marjorie Brown, one grandfather, Derick Morrison(Jackie) of Suffolk Virginia; two aunts, Attallah Torain(Lamont), Delissa Morrison of Durham NC; one uncle, Solomon Woods;  one great aunt, Vicki Matier(George) Greensboro NC; one great uncle, Darris Brown of Durham NC; God-parents, Sheila and Larry Coffin of Durham NC; cousins, Ayden, Arya, Armani, Kai, Torrie, Zoey, and host of great aunts and uncles, relatives and friends.
