Tamara Marie (Percell) Wimbley

Tamara Marie Percell Wimbley, 58 of 110 O’Quinn Road, Cameron NC transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.

She was born in Sanford, NC on August 18, 1961 to Joseph Emerson Mitchell and the late Margaret Ann Percell.  As a child, Tamara attended St. James AME Zion Church.  She went to school at W. B. Wicker and later earned an Associate Degree from Sandhills Community College.  She enjoyed her job as a Quality Assurance Technician at Caterpillar, Inc.

Tamara was a very shy person until she got to know you.  Once she got used to you, her picky and playful side would be exhibited.  She was a very honest person and she believed in telling you the truth.  She enjoyed taking care of her home, cooking delicious meals, reading the bible, shopping on QVC and watching her favorite TV shows like “Good Times”, “The Flintstones” and “Murder She Wrote”.

The first thing you noticed about Tamara was her beauty and her smile.  These attributes are what attracted the love of her life “Willie” to her.  They met at Donna’s Hair Salon and not too soon afterwards, they went on their first date.  If you asked Tamara why she loved Willie, she would tell you it was because he took her to “church” on their first date.  Their love soon blossomed, and they became husband and wife on December 31, 2004.

In addition to her mother, Tamara was also preceded in death by her aunts, Willie Bell Percell and Evelyne Percell Morgan; her uncle, James “Sonny Boy” Percell; her sister-in-law, Pamela Wimbley Spruill and her mother-in-law, Rosa Lea Wimbley.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 15 years, Willie Frederick Wimbley; one daughter, Nicole Percell Degraffenreidt (Jeffrey); one son, Mitchell Jermaine Percell; her father, Joseph Mitchell (Doris); one sister; Vickie Scott (Philbin); three brothers, Patrick Percell, Joseph Mitchell, Jr. and David Mitchell; bonus daughter, Eugenia Robinson (Jerome); bonus son, Jerod Wimbley; four sisters-in- law, Cora Owens (Jackie), Sandra Patterson (Donald), Karen Ray, and Donna Hooker (Nathane); three brothers-in-law, Griggs Wimbley (Audrey), Donald Wimbley, and Willie Spruill; three grandsons, James McKendell, Julian McKendell and Jamen Percell; one granddaughter, Cynthia Griffin; three bonus grandsons, Clayton Brown, Joshua Brown, and Elijah Brown; one bonus granddaughter, Helayna Wimbley; five special great-grandsons; two bonus great-grandsons and one bonus great-granddaughter, four aunts, a special cousin; Clifton Percell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
