Stewart "Jake" Judd, Sr. age 72 of 3410 Renee Drive, Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest, Monday, November 2, 2020, at his residence.
Deacon Stewart Edward “Jake” Judd Sr. was born May 30,1948 to the late Theodore Judd and Josephine Womack. He departed this life on Monday Nov. 2,2020 at his home in Sanford, NC.
Stewart was educated in the Harnett County and Lee County School systems and was a 1966 graduate of WB Wicker. He also attended CCCC in Sanford, NC.
Stewart was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the US Army from 1968-1970. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/Silver Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/Device and the Marksman Badge w/Rifle Bar.
Stewart was united in marriage to Linda McNeil for over 49 years.
He retired from Performance Fibers (formally Allied) after 42 years of dedicated Service.
He attended Chapel Hill AME Zion church in Broadway, NC an early age. He later became a member of Rock Springs FWB church and then WFCCC in Sanford, NC under the leadership of Drs. Lewis and Alice Hooker.
Stewart was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Josephine Judd and 10 siblings- Glasco Judd Sr, Elder Henry Judd, Clifton (Mack) Judd, Alfonzia (Stick) Judd, James (Jim) Judd, Peter Judd, Joseph Judd, Thomas (Leon) Judd, Lucille Judd and Lillian Williams. One sister Mernilla Jean Gaines passed away one day after Stewart passed away.
Stewart leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 49 years Linda Judd. one daughter, Karen Judd. Three sons, Stewart Judd Jr. , Paul Judd and Sandy McNeill.
Nine grandchildren: Jasmine Marsh, Patrick Bunnell (Elida) Donte’ Jennings, Stewart Judd III, Damian Judd, Tamiya Judd, Tyler Murphy, Kobe Judd and Janiya Judd. One great-grandchild Patrick Bunnell Jr.
One sister Betty Williams (Bishop) of Raleigh, NC. One brother Nathaniel (Tusha) Judd of Sanford, NC. Four sisters in law- Margaret Judd, Lois Judd, Oretta McMillan and Janice Graham. Three brothers in law; Joseph Gaines Sr, Mickey McNeill and Donald McNeill. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
