Shannon Lee Maddox

Mr. Shannon Lee Maddox, age 39 of Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at his residence in Sanford, NC.

Shannon Lee Maddox was born in Lee county. He spent most of his youth learning how to rebuild cars with his father, and helping his mother. He also enjoyed spending time with close relatives.

In his late 20s, he met his wife Christina Mendez. They spent some time in Minnesota, where they started a family by having their first daughter Aria Maddox in 2012. In 2015 the three moved back to Lee county, where they had their second daughter Alivia Maddox. Shannon spent the last few years working for contract lumber, and they became a second family to him. 

In August of 2022, Shannon became very sick and was unfortunately diagnosed with liver failure. Shannon spent his final weeks at home comfortably with his family where he passed away peacefully. 

Shannon will be forever loved and missed by his family.  He was a husband and best friend to Christina Mendez; a forever loving father to Aria May Maddox and Alivia Grace Maddox; a precious son to Catherine Gilmore; a stepson to Roger Gilmore; a brother to Kris Maddox, Christole Maddox, and Michael Maddox; a brother-in-law to Kimberly Maddox, John Mendez, and Kenneth Mendez; a son-in-law to John Mendez, Rossana Mendez, and Susan Mendez; an uncle to Lily and Alexander Maddox.
