Sandra Faye (Edwards) Alford

Sandra Faye Alford, age 69, of Carthage, NC, entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 18, 2023, in Carthage, NC.

Mrs. Sandra Faye (Edwards) Alford was born September 14, 1953, to the late Clinton Edwards and Catherine Newby Edwards.

Sandra or “Redbone” as so many lovingly called her was one who loved her family, and friends, so much.  Sandra served as a daycare worker for years until she found her real passion as a C.N.A. She served her community for many years until her health began to fail and she could no longer. But yet, she still found a way to serve. Sandra would still go out into the community to help others rather it was a ride, helping at the local food banks, or just trying to help whomever however she could.

Sandra leaves to cherish her memories; her husband of 18 years, Mr. Lorenzo Alford; one daughter, Connie Headen Ray; two sons, Vernon “Lee” Edwards, and John “J.B.” Headen; one stepdaughter, Shameka McGill (Sam), and one stepson; Damon Alford (Kisha); three sisters, Francis Brooks, Racine Edwards, and Libby Ann McMillan (Elder Jerry); three brothers; Norman Edwards, Rev. Clinton Edwards Jr., and Anthony Edwards; fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two very special friends; Dorothy McIntyre, and Sherdine McKoy, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
