Ms. Ruth Inez (Carroll) Columbo, age 92, of Sanford, NC transitioned to eternal life on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Glenbridge Health and Rehab in Boone, NC.

The Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruth Inez Colombo, 92 years old on June 12, 2025, at Glenbridge Nursing Home in Boone, NC.

Born on December 18, 1932, in Mt. Airy, NC to Chester Carroll and Reitha Wright Carroll. She eventually moved to Pittsboro, NC where she married and raised four children.

During her life, Ruth enjoyed gardening and crafts. She enjoyed and had a talent for Interior Design as she was an impeccable housekeeper.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Colombo; two brothers, Buddy Carroll and Dale Carroll, and one sister, Jewel Greenwood.

She is survived by four children, Henry Goodman of Raleigh, NC, Chester Milo Goodman (Malia) of Purlear, NC, Kenneth Goodman (Pam) of Pittsboro, NC, and David Goodman (Mitesh) of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren, Matthew (Sandra) Goodman of California and Celeste Robinson of Raleigh, NC; two great-grandchildren, Blake Robinson of Raleigh, NC and Olivia Goodman of California; one brother, Billy Joe Carroll of Greensboro, NC; and one sister, Grace Moore of Pittsboro, NC.
