Mr. Rickey Wesley Perry was born in Pittsboro, North Carolina on August 31, 1956, to the late James (Bo) and Lucille Perry. He transitioned into eternal rest Sunday, September 26, 2021, at The Brian Center Southpoint, in Durham, NC.
Rickey, affectionally known as “Rick” attended Northwood High School in Pittsboro, NC. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Army where he served from 1976 until 1992 as a Cannon Crewmember (TANKS); retiring as Staff Sargent. During his enlistment, he earned numerous medals, ribbons, and badges to include the Army Achievement and the Good Conduct Medals, the National Defense Service, the Overseas Service, NCO Professional Development, and Army Service Ribbons, and Expert Marksmanship Badge.
Rick enjoyed listening to old-school music, playing musical instruments, and shooting pool. He loved spending time with family and friends while cooking and eating good food. He was an extremely loving and giving person.
Four Brothers, Earl Lee Perry, Marvin Wade Perry, James Henry Perry Jr, and Raymond Nick Perry; preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife and best friend; Ernestine Railey, son, Kenjata Perry (Heather), three beautiful grandchildren; Kaiden, Kellen, and Kennadi Perry, three sisters; Elsie Hatcher (Walter), Claire Perry-Grant (Christopher), Sandra Perry (Winfred Sr), godson; Kelvin Penny, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
