Richard Earl Marsh

Mr. Richard Earl Marsh age 66 of Moncure, NC transitioned to eternal rest on Monday, February 26, 2024. 

Mr. Richard Earl Marsh (slick) son of the late C.W. (Jake) and Thelma Marsh, born on June 15, 1957, in Pittsboro, NC. He departed this life, Monday February 26, 2024, at UNC in Hillsborough, NC, after a lengthy illness.

He was united in marriage to Karen Smith. 

As a young boy growing up, he attended Gethsemane Holy Church under the leadership of the Late Elder Myrtle Spruill.  He Attended J S Waters and Chatham Central High School as a young man. 

He was a great masonry, he loved laying bricks until his health declined. He was with different masonry’s, Leroy Cheek, Gregory Cheek and The Watson’s masonry. He also loved to take photographs. 

He leaves to cherish memories his wife, Karen Marsh of the home; four sons, Richard Junior Smith of Pittsboro NC, Marchello Antawn Smith(Tameka) of Charlotte NC, Andrew Darius Marsh of Laurinburg  SC, and Jarel Kareen Marsh of Sanford NC; twenty-one grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Lee Marsh (Bridget) of Sanford, NC and Wayne Andre Marsh of Bear Creek, NC; three sisters, Phyllis Ann Marsh of Bear Creek, NC, Doris Jean Raines of Goldston, NC, and Debra Kaye Marsh of Bear Creek, NC; one brother-in-law, Alvin Harris (Bernie) of Apex, NC; five aunts, Olivia Epps( Daniel) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Joyce Smith of Sanford, NC, Tessie Watson of Siler City, NC, Martha Wilson of Raleigh, NC, and Mattie Wilson of Raleigh, NC; two uncles, Bobby Horton of New Hill, NC and Johnny Wilson of Moncure, NC; four domino friends, Johnny Wilson, Rod Minter, Kevin Dowdy, Walter Trapp, and others; four god-children, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
