Mr. Reginald Lewis Bland, age 56, of Durham, NC, transitioned to eternal rest on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
Obituary
Reginald "Regi" Bland, also known as “Roc B” and “Big Pun,” was born on November 5, 1969, in Pittsboro, North Carolina, to Brenda Waddell Bland and Thomas Ross Bland. He attended Chatham County Schools in Pittsboro, North Carolina.
Regi was a loving and devoted father to his four children. He was known for his bright spirit, warm smile, and contagious laughter that could light up any room. Regi loved his children and family dearly. One of his favorite hobbies was cooking—especially grilling—and he was affectionately known as “Chef B & Grill Master.” He also had a deep love for rapping and was always freestyling lyrics. He loved sports and even coached a rec league basketball team for two years. Regi was well known and deeply loved by everyone he encountered. He truly never met a stranger.
Regi was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Bland; his mother, Brenda Bland; and his sister, Jackie Harrington.
He leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Lashinda Leak of Staley, NC; DeVante Ragland of Sanford, NC; Krystin Smith (Corey) of Durham, NC; and Evan Bland of Pittsboro, NC; two grandsons, DeVante Ragland Jr. and Alijah Smith; one granddaughter, Alayah Smith; five sisters, Shirley Bland, Minerva Council, Teretha Rone, Anita Rone, and Schneika Garland; three brothers, Henry Rone, Mike Rone, and Kent Rone (Wanda); two aunts, Florence Rhone and Sarah Kirby; seven nieces; ten nephews; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; many other relatives and friends; and a special friend, Cierra Alston.
