Ms. Ramona Arroyo Chalmers, age 84 of New York transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, March 24, 2023.
On March 24, 2023, Ramona Chalmers was called to the Lord where He welcomed her with open arms. No longer would there be any tears, pain, or suffering.
Ramona Chalmers was born on August 31, 1938, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, to parents, Marcolinas Quiles and Eleuterio Arroyo. Ramona graduated high school and came to New York in the mid-sixties. Ramona worked on an assembly line where she met her future husband, Marvin Chalmers Sr. They were married for 57 years and together until her death.
Ramona loved salsa music, cooking her family's traditional Spanish meals, watching the Yankees, and especially watching TV reality and game shows. Ramona was the type of person that would help anyone who needed it. She would literally give you the shirt off her back. She was firm and would not hold anything back, giving her guidance, and reprimanding you if needed. Ramona was a kind and gentle person who will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. She was an exceptional wife and mother.
Ramona is survived by her husband, Marvin Chalmers Sr.; two sons, Harold and Marvin Chalmers Jr.; daughter-in-laws, Sabrina Chalmers and Sericha Rosado; sisters, Fidela Rivera and Gloria Quinones; nieces and nephews, Mercy Rivera, Jessica Quinones, Ivana Rivera, Antonio Rivera, Michael Santiago, John Lamboy, Christobal Quiones, Antonio Rivera Jr., Emmanuel Rivera, Azariah Rivera, and Abisai Rivera; and in-laws, Sinclair, Tony Wilson, Marcie, and Sue Chalmers Wilson.
