Pearl Swan

Ms. Pearl Swan, age 82, of Spring Lake, NC entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at her residence.

Pearl Swan was 82 years old at the time of her death.

She was a resident of Spring Lake, NC. She went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 3, 2023, from the home of her daughter.

Pearl was born on March 12, 1941, to Oliver Swan and Elnora (Adams) Swan in Texas City, TX.

She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School of Texas City, TX where she was a member of the choir. Pearl had a beautiful singing voice and was called upon to display her talent at major school ceremonies.

She moved to California in 1976 where she became a member of Abundant Living Family  Church. She later moved to Spring Lake, NC where she became a member of Star of Hope OFWB Church and served there until her passing.

Pearl was an avid reader as evidenced by the multiple filled bookshelves in her home. Pearl had a great love for family. Her home was a gathering place for family and friends, particularly on Sundays when she cooked the most delicious meals.

She was preceded in death by both parents; sisters, Octavia Anderson Carter, Lillie Keys, Rose Swan; brothers, Oliver, Cleveland, Ellis, Thomas, Edward, Herbert, and Roy.

She is survived by five beautiful daughters aka Pearls’ Girls, LaSandra Burnett (Ernest), Teresa Holmes (Alexander), Latricia Young, Yalonda Thomas, Quinnita Reid; ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Daisy Buster, Jerdean Tillman, Linda Killebrew-Johnson (Benedict); three brothers, Shelby, Henry (Mary), and Clarence (Debra) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
