Pearl Brower

Pearl Brower, age 91 of 2000 Marks Rd. Cameron, NC passed on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Liberty Commons, Sanford, NC. 

Pearl Gillis Brower, fought a good fight, kept the faith, and received her crown in glory on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Lee County.

She was born in Harnett County, NC on September 2, 1926 to the late Rosie King.

Pearl received her education in the Harnett County Public School System.  For many years she worked with her husband on their farm.  Later she was employed publicly and retired from Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst, NC.

She attended Spout Springs Presbyterian Church, Cameron NC for several years and later joined Covenant Christian Church, Southern Pines, NC. She served faithfully in various capacities. Failing health did not allow her to continue her service in her church, but her faith remained strong and her witness as a Christian was shared with everyone she saw. 

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband and son, Kermit Lee Brower, Sr. and Kermit Lee Brower, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Cameron and Maezell Pettiford; brothers, Broadus Lowery, Fred King, Edward  Pettiford and Thurman King.

Pearl leaves to cherish her memories: Judy Best Raeford, NC; Brenda Smith (Thomas), Southern Pines, NC; Tommy Cornell Brower and Veronica French of Cameron, NC; daughter-in-law, Celestine Brower, Cameron, NC; one brother, Odell King (Lorraine) Grays Creek, NC; two sisters-in-law, Mavis Fleming and Alice Brower, Cameron, NC; one brother-in-law, Edward Pettiford of Spring Lake, NC; two aunts, Sallie Hailey and Fannie Headen of Sanford. NC; six grandchildren and a host of great grand-children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
