Reverend Pauline Rogers English, age 103 of Pittsboro, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Accordius Health in Greensboro, NC.
Reverend Pauline Siler was born in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Colester Rogers and Keller Mae Siler on February 20, 1919. There were twelve siblings and two remaining sisters: Christine Allen and Joyce Parker. She also has a brother-in-law, Thomas Blackmon, and a stepbrother, Wash Summers all of Greensboro, North Carolina.
Reverend Pauline Rogers English pastored Bibleway Mission until declining health. She mentored several people who are pastoring churches now: Apostle Barry Degraffrenreidt and Pastor Louise McCrimmon (Deceased). She received her formal education in Chatham County Schools. She studied further at the Teamer Bible institute in Charlotte, North Carolina. She loved Pittsboro, People, and Preaching. She made sure that her children received their education. Her pride and joy were her church, family, and friends. Mrs. English’s parents instilled in her how to pray, praise, worship, and play the piano. Her grandfather was a Baptist minister and there were six ministers in her family. She is leaving a Christian legacy to her children and her children’s children.
She worked outside the home at a flower farm and a poultry plant. She retired as a USDA Government Inspector. While at Accordius Health of Greensboro, she would call the nurse to help the patients there. Her motto was: “If I can help somebody”. She was very strong in faith and her beliefs. In her final days, she was surrounded by family and friends. Those who were touched by her understood that the quality of 103 years of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which she lived. In the end, she said, “I am tired and want to go to my heavenly home.”
She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Reverend Pauline Page and Thurna Clifford Page were united in matrimony after the family moved back to Siler City years later. To this union were born five children: Swannie Page (Deceased), Mary Page Jenkins of Frederick, Maryland, Thurman Kennis Page (Calvina) of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Bobby Page of Atlanta, Georgia, and Robert Earl Page (Sheila) of Havelock, North Carolina. Several grandchildren followed: Eugene Carter of Fayetteville, NC, Pauline Carter (Kearse) of Urbana, MD, Ebony Melville of Dunwoody, GA, Angela Haskins of Greenville, NC, Ricky Neal of Alexandria, VA, Jamey Page of Maxton, NC, Ashley Page of Madison, WI, Niecy “Shorty” Page of Havelock, NC and Andreia “Nneka” Higdon of Landover, MD and 7 great-grandchildren. She raised 5 foster children: Nancy McSwain, Judy Snipes, Rita Snipes, Kim Snipes Perez, and Curtis Snipes who remained loyal to her.
