Mrs. Paula McLean Murchison, age 68 of Sanford NC transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, September 16, 2022, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC.
Obituary
Paula McLean Murchison was born October 28, 1953, to the late Andrew Lee McLean, Sr. and Alice McLeod McLean. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, September 16, 2022, at UNC Hospitals surrounded by her loving family.
Paula was a member of Sanford Central High School Class of 1972. She was a very talented musician. Her instrument of choice was the clarinet which she played beautifully.
On July 10, 1976, she married the love of her life, Jimmy Murchison. They enjoyed 46 wonderful years together. She was his “Pearl”; he was her “Porky”.
Even though she had no biological children, her life and legacy will live on in the children that she raised and nurtured. Her passion for cooking showed in all the delicious meals that she prepared. Her signature dish was her macaroni and cheese. We hope that one of us will be able to duplicate it, but that is highly unlikely. Her home and heart were always centered on her love for her family.
Her favorite hobby was crocheting. She made beautiful afghans which she has shared with many of her family and friends.
Paula was a member of Blandonia Presbyterian Church. One of her proudest moments came when she was ordained as a Deacon in January 2018.
Paula was preceded by her brothers Reynold McLeod, Andrew Lee McLean, Jr., (Wimpy), and James McLean, one sister Margaret McLean, one brother-in-law James Adams and two sisters-in-law Barbara Covington and Peggy Murchison.
Her memories will live on in her husband, Jimmy of the home; four sisters, Betty Adams of Temple Hills, Maryland, Mary Hooker, Sarah McLean, and Melanie McNeill all of Sanford, North Carolina; one brother, Ronald McLean (Flora) of Carthage, North Carolina; our bonus sister, who is our niece, Alice Williams of Fayetteville, North Carolina; two brothers in law, Terry Murchison and Clifton Covington; two granddaughters Jametra Jones and Kimberly McIver. Also with very special memories is her best friend, Rhonda Crumpton of Sanford, North Carolina. All her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who hold a special place in her heart also survive her.
