Pattie Virginia (Headen) Watson

Pattie Virginia (Headen) Watson was born in Sanford, NC on November 13, 1942, to the late Julius and Myrtle Headen. She entered eternal rest on June 4, 2022, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.

Pattie attended Lee County Public Schools and graduated from W. B. Wicker School in Sanford, NC. She was employed by Central Carolina Community College for 26 years and retired on December 31, 2007.

Pattie loved her family and especially the grand and great-grandchildren. She had a strong personality and was not afraid to assert it. She always kept up with current events in the world and had a sharp memory. If you weren’t aware of what was happening or going on, just ask Pattie and she would tell it all to you from politics, weather, crime, music entertainment, etc.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Raeford, Theadore, and John Wayne Headen.

She leaves to cherish her memories:  two daughters - Mellisa Rhinehart (Dennis) of Laurel, MD and Myrtle Womble (Ricky) of Sanford, NC; three granddaughters, Alicia Davis (Avram) of Charlotte, NC, Tenisha Womble of Sanford, NC and Desiree Rhinehart of Charlotte, NC; two great-granddaughters, Janiyah Rhinehart of Bowie, MD and  Faith Britton of Sanford, NC; two brothers, Waldo Headen (Pearl) and Ridie Headen (Laura) both of Sanford, NC and one sister, Syrella Headen of Thomasville, NC; two sisters-in-law: Fannie Headen of Sanford, NC and  Cherlylen Headen of Elizabeth City, NC. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
