Mrs. Pamela Jean Smith was born in Naples, Italy on September 6, 1961, to the late Mr. John E. McClaine Sr. and Mrs. Lue Helen McClaine. Pam departed us on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
Pam attended school at 71st High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina. There she played basketball as a forward. Although Pam worked various jobs, she was a well-known retail manager at Stein Mart for several years.
Pam accepted Christ during her teenage years at Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Fayetteville, North Carolina. She later became a faithful member of Christian Provision Ministries. Pam started the “Survivors Ministry” at CPM.
Pam had a vibrant and welcoming spirit. She was always ready to have a good time wherever she went. Whether it was at church or at a family gathering, as well as going shopping and finding a good sale. Pam later met the love of her life, Donavon Smith and they were married on June 5, 2004.
Pam was preceded in death by her son, Franklin “Trey” Bowden III; her father, John E. McClaine Sr., and her brother, John E. McClaine Jr.
Leaving to cherish her memory, her husband Donavon Smith; her three daughters, Marquita Wells (Albert), Tiffany Bowden, and Tammy Dillard (Jermaine); one son, Sharief Smith; her mother, Lue Helen McClaine; four brothers, Eric Dorr (Carol), Robert Dorr, Thomas McClaine, and Mark McLaine (Francine); fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Linda Smith; five sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Higgs (Anthony), Donna Smith, Stephanie Smith, Yolanda Womble (Lance) and Auteeka McLeod; six brothers-in-law, Charles Smith, Marlon McLeod, Antoine McLeod, Dwight Smith, Tyrone Smith and William Murchison; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, including three best friends, Wanda Bissett-Russell, Cassandra Wimberly and Sharon Belk; and her CPM church family.
