Nilas "Chuck" Warren Jones

Nilas "Chuck" Warren Jones, age 68 of 808 Daisey Ct. Raleigh, NC passed on Tuesday, November, 5, 2019 at Wake Med Hospital.

Nilas Warren “Chuck” Jones was born on February 1, 1951, to the late Harold and Lillian Jones. Throughout his life, he posed a joyous, humble and loving spirit. Chuck was a family man and prided himself in taking care of his family. He loved good soul food and loved to travel and fellowship with his friends and family. Chuck was always concerned about others and visited the sick and shut-in when he had time. Chuck taught each of his nieces and nephews how to drive his sharp cars.

Chuck became a member of Macedonia A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age. He song in the choir under the direction of Mary McCants. He loved vacation bible school and would attend Macedonia when he could. Chuck graduated from Chatham Central High School in 1969. Shortly after graduation he was employed with Winn Dixie where they sent him to an apprentice class as a meat cutter and promoted to Head Butcher and eventually progressed to Meat Market Manager. Chuck loved his job and throughout his career he worked at BJ’s Wholesale Company, Carlie C’s, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Kmart and Kroger. Chuck remained employed with BJ’s Wholesale Company in Brier Creek, NC until his health failed in September of this year. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in his death by a brother, George Venson Jones, two sisters, Margie Thompson and Brenda Hairston and a niece Pamela G. Womble.

Treasuring Chuck’s joyful life and rich legacy are his wife, Pamela Yvette “Bush” Jones (whom he was married to for 47 years); his son Christopher Warren Jones; his sisters Ruby Singletary (John), Evonne Craven (Stephen), Zelma Davis (Carl), Hazel Roberts, and brother Linwood Jones (Helen). He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Tessie Jones Volcy, Earleen Lewis, Estelle Bush, Gwen McLaughlin (Harold), Felicia Laplache, Malia Bess (Samuel); brothers-in-law Richard Bush, Charlie Hairston and Joseph Brayboy. He is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
