Naomi Street Obituary

Ms. Naomi (Ferguson) Street, age 73, of Cameron, North Carolina, entered eternal rest on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, North Carolina.

The Obituary

Naomi Ferguson Street heard the angels call her name to transition from her earthly home to eternal rest on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Central Carolina Hospital. Naomi was born in Harnett County North Carolina on November 9, 1951, to the late Elisha E. Ferguson and Alma McDougald Ferguson. She was the second eldest of eight siblings and graduated from Shaw town High School class of 1969. She moved to Johnsonville Community and attended Johnsonville AME Zion Church, where she faithfully served on the usher board and sang on the choir. She continued her church fellowship and service under the leadership of Rev. Andrew Ferguson.

Naomi was a compassionate, caring, kind and helpful person. She did not hesitate to help someone who needed her. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed cooking for them. One of her joys was hosting holidays in her home and welcoming others. She loved listening to music performed by live bands, traveling and going to the movies. Her favorite place to visit was Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Her contagious smile and laughter made others feel cared for and loved. She was a dedicated worker while employed with Koury Company, Avondale and later Moen where she later retired on August 31, 2015.

Naomi’s favorite scripture was John 14:1, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God believe also in me.” She loved the Lord and served him with all her heart. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and sister.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Street and sister Deloris Ellerby.

Naomi’s memories will be cherished by her children, Edna (Gary) Mullins, George, Michael, Kevin and Latoya Stewart all of Cameron, NC; a bouns daughter, Tomeka McNeill of Spring Lake, NC; siblings, Sarah Bouldin of Baltimore, Maryland, Eloise McNeill of Bunnlevel, NC, Sheila Morsey of Lillington, NC, Sameul Ferguson of Newark, NJ, Jerome and Andrew (Tabitha) Ferguson of Sanford, NC; mother-in-law, Effie Street of Cameron, NC; fourteen grandchildren, Kierra Mullins, Nakiela Gaines (Byran), Shayla Mungo, Tiesha Mullins (Brian), Tiandra McNeill, George Stewart, Jr., Gary Mullins, Jr., Sharneace Stewart, Zikeria and Shatyla Parks, Kalib McEachern, Jessiah Pullum, and Star and Skylar White; fourteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who shall continue to honor her memory.
