Ms. Christopher Michelle (Alston) Tabon

Ms. Christopher Tabon, age 56 of Sanford, NC transitioned to eternal rest Saturday, May 17, 2025, at her residence. 

The Obituary

Ms. Christopher Michelle Alston Tabon was born on August 13, 1968, to the late Gloria Jean Alston and Frederick L. Murdock. Surrounded by her loved ones, she peacefully transitioned from this life on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Affectionately known as Christy, she graduated from Northwood High School, Class of 1987, in Pittsboro, North Carolina. Following graduation, Christy pursued a career in healthcare and attended Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, NC, where she earned her CNA I & II licenses, along with certification in Phlebotomy.

She joined Union Grove AME Zion Church in Goldston, NC. In later years, she became a devoted member of Works for Christ Christian Center in Sanford, NC, where her faith continued to flourish.

Christy had a heart full of compassion and a soul devoted to service. She found joy in caring for the elderly, often traveling to Bear Creek to care for her uncles during times of illness. Family gatherings were among her greatest joys, and her unmistakable, infectious laughter will remain etched in the hearts of those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Timmy Tabon, and her devoted mother, Gloria Jean Alston.

Christy leaves a legacy of love and care through her cherished son, Chrishawn T. Alston, of the home; her loving father, Frederick L. Murdock, and stepmother, Delma D. Murdock, of Greensboro, NC; her sisters, Venus A. Davis (Tony) of Lillington, NC, and Anette Melvin of El Dorado Hills, CA; and one stepson, De’Mario Tabon (Kenia).

She is also lovingly remembered by her uncles: George Alston, Daniel Alston, Ricky Alston, and Jerry Alston; aunts, Barbara McQueen, Elaine Marsh, and Brenda Alston; one nephew; and a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Christy’s kind heart, unwavering faith, and joyous spirit made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Though she is no longer with us in body, her light continues to shine in the lives she touched.
