Mr. Micah Andrew Turner, age 61, of Knightdale, NC, entered eternal rest on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC.

The Obituary

Micah “Mike” Andrew Turner, 61, of Knightdale, NC, Monday, November 11th, 2024, entered the realm of eternal rest at Duke University Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Micah’s life was a display of strength, perseverance and a testament to the will of the human spirit. He was born to Adeen Turner on January 31,1963 in Troy, New York and grew up in Syracuse, NY where he attended Syracuse Public Schools. Shortly after graduation, Micah enlisted in the US Army where he ascended to the rank of Sergeant First Class in the 82nd Airborne Division as a Chemical Operation Specialist. He was a well decorated soldier with his most honorable award being Soldier of The Year (1985). He bravely fought in Operation Desert Storm and The Gulf War. After dedicating nearly 15 years of his life to his country, Micah then continued his career at Pfizer as a Bioprocess Technician in chemistry.

Micah encountered no stranger; he opened his home and his heart to many in the community. In his spare time, he enjoyed landscaping, cooking childhood meals and long walks in nature.
Micah will be remembered for his infectious laughs and warm smiles.

In 2001 Micah met Tushanda, they would go on to marry and create many loving and cherished memories. He leaves behind many to reflect on his love and character.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Adeen Turner; two sisters, Martha Ann Turner-Bradshaw, Ruth Stover, and one brother, Jonathan Turner.

Micah is survived by his endearing wife, Tushanda Turner of Knightdale, NC; four daughters; one son; and twelve grandchildren, who deeply admired him. Ebony Petty of Knightdale, NC, Micah Turner Jr. of Durham, NC, Aysa Lane of Hope Mills, NC, Joscelyn Thompson (Tony) of Atlanta, GA and Kayla Bruton (Julian) of Wake Forest, NC; Along; three brothers, Jesse, James (Brenda) and David Turner all of Syracuse NY; three sisters, Brenda Jackson of Syracuse, NY, Linda Betsy of New Castle, DE and Mary Skipworth (Charles Jr) of Cicero, NY; mother-in-law, Marie Byers and father-in-law, Charles Stewart of Sanford NC; Robert Harrison Jr of Knightdale NC, special close friend and honorary father; along with a host of loving brother and sister in laws, aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
