Melvin Lee McAuley Sr., age 69 transitioned into eternal rest, Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford, NC.
Celebrating the life of Melvin McAuley Sr. aka “Mac”, the son of the late Isaac McAuley and the late Nettie Blue of Olivia North Carolina, was born October 27, 1951 and departed his life on November 21, 2020.
“Mac” as he was affectionately known, received his education in Olivia North Carolina at Benhaven High in the Harnett County School systems. He attended Church of God in Broadway North Carolina.
Known for his fearless and comical side, “Mac” kept his family and friends laughing with sharing some of the funniest stories from his childhood and adult life. Melvin enjoyed spending time with close family and friends, riding his motorcycles, fishing, working on his cars, and playing with his animals. He enjoyed life and he lived it to the fullest. “Mac” will always be remembered for his courageous spirit and humorous and laidback personality.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his two children Melvin McAuley Jr. of Fayetteville, NC and Tanesha McAuley of Atlanta, GA with his then wife Evelyn Smith and his son, Scott Richardson of Austin, TX; sisters Glenda McAuley of Sanford, NC and the late Christine Council of Apex, NC; brother James Solomon of Apex, NC; his Aunt Lillie Monroe of Olivia, NC; four grandchildren; Dequaris Tucker, Makayla, Christian, and Konstance McAuley of Fayetteville, NC; two great grandchildren; Isiah and Graceson Thompkins-Tucker; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
