Mary Ester James-McNeill

Mary McNeill, age 78 of 159 Farmhouse Ct, Sanford, NC passed on Tuesday, November, 26, 2019 at her residence. 

Mary Ester James-McNeill, was born September 27, 1941 to the late William and Lillie James in Erwin, North Carolina.

Mary, attended Harnett Primary School; she quit school at an early age and worked on her parents’ farm.

In 1958 she married, Andrew McNeill and together raised 5 children. She joined Rock Spring FWB Church and became a dedicated member and mother of the church. In 1971, Mary became an Eastern Star. She loved gardening and listening to Gospel and Christmas music. She had a passion for cooking and baking, and loved doing it for her family and friends. 

She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Mcneill, three sisters, Goldie May Cox, Martha Smith, Annie Ruth McNeill, one brother, Jarvis James, and one sister in-law, Mary Judd.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories; one daughter, Sandra McLean of the home; four sons, William McNeill (Pamela) of Lillington, North Carolina, Danny McNeill (Tangela) of Lillington, Lee McNeill (Gayle) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Eddie McNeill (Adria) of Lillington; seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Smith, Rachel James, and Norma James of Coats North Carolina; one brother, William James Jr. of Coats of North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Jean Bates, and one special friend/sister, Caroline McLaurin. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be greatly missed.
