Mary Lee Tillman Dunlap, age 80 of 3501 Renee Dr. Sanford, NC entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Moore Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Mary Lee Tillman Dunlap, the daughter of the late John and Martha Parson Tillman, was born September 24, 1939 in Anson County, North Carolina. God, in His infinite wisdom, called her home on the evening of 13 June, 2020, while she was a patient at Moore County Memorial Hospital, Pinehurst, NC. Mary accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Flatrock Baptist Church, Wadesboro, NC. She later married and moved to the Sanford area and became a member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Colon, NC, where she was an active and faithful member until her health limited her ability to attend. Some of the organizations that she was an active member of included: The Senior Usher Board, Deaconess Board, Ministry Team of Mount Calvary and the Choir.
On July 17, 1959, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Fred T. Dunlap and unto this union, four children were born, one son and three daughters. She was a loving and devoted mother and shared her motherly wit and advice with all whom would listen. Mary worked in childcare in her later years at Blandonia and Shekinah Child Care until she medically retired.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Fred T Dunlap; one son, Fred T. Dunlap Jr. (Pamela), Sanford, NC; three daughters, Janet A. Dunlap Williams, Sanford, NC; Sharon D. Martin (Dennis) of Cameron, NC; and Carol D. Dunlap, Sanford, NC; nine grandchildren: LaKeitsha Hancock (William), Cherise Williams, Bryan K. Williams Jr, Patrice Martin, Dennis Martin Jr. (Faith), Nyeisha Bassett (Ben), Fred T. Dunlap III, Gabrielle Dunlap and Daniel Dunlap; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers in law: Horace Buchanan of Wadesboro, NC and Russell Pearson of Sanford, NC; sister in law, Gloria Buchanan Archie of Greensboro and a special niece, Melba McMillian (Charles); a special son, Willie Ware and host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
