Mary Lois Cherry

Mrs. Mary Lois Cherry, age 79 of Stamford CT transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, in Stamford CT.

Mary was born on August 31, 1942, in Cameron North Carolina to the late Marcellus and Fannie Margert Hailey Chalmers.

Mary had a smile that could light up the world.  When talking with her, she always made you feel that you were the most important person in the room. She was caring. She had her own personal relationship with each one of her loved ones.  She was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, an auntie, a cousin, a friend, and a mentor. 

Mary was a Chemist for over 30 years at Shaw Mudge & Company. She was recently employed by First Student Inc. Bus Service.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents.

Her memories will be treasured by her loving husband Clarence Otis Cherry; one daughter, Sharon Byrd (Buford Byrd); four sons: Michael Cherry, Ray Cherry (Kevin Kim), Eric Cherry (Marilyn Cherry), and Nicholas Spezzano-Cherry; a brother, Ronnie Chalmers (Almarie Chalmers); two sisters: Shirley Wright (Nathan Wright) and Regina McAuley; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 

She played a role in the lives of many.  And for that, we thank her, honor her, and most of all loved her.
