Mary Ann (Murphy) Williams

Mary Ann Williams, age 83 of Sanford, North Carolina transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Central Harnett Hospital.

Mary Ann Murphy Williams, daughter of the late Gracie Lee Thomas and Tom Murphy was born in Cheraw, SC on Nov. 17, 1936.

She attended Rosen Wall High School in SC.  She was employed at CCH (Lee County Hospital) as a dietician for many years.  She was also employed at Parkview Retirement Home and Federal Spinning for many years.  She was a member of Emmanuel Church of God.

On Thursday night, Nov. 12th Mary was called home, leaving a legacy of love and devotion to her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Williams, her son, Joseph Martin, her brother, Jack Murphy, her grandson, Bobby Brown and many brothers and sisters.

She leaves to cherish her loving and only daughter, Bobbie McDonald (Robert); her sister, Gracie Mae Heck of High Point, NC; her grandchildren, RayShonda McAuley, Danica McAuley, Ebony McAuley all of Sanford, NC, Maresa and Paula Martin of Virginia, NC; her great grandchildren, Jessie McLean, Keishawn Brown, Kristianna Brown all of  Southern Pines, NC, Caulaysia and Malaysia Brown of Harnett County and Rai’lynn McKoy of Sanford, NC.  She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

Mary loved her family and was very support of them.  She was a very sweet lady and she loved the Lord with everything in her.  She was a family-oriented person and just loved to be around her family.  She loved to go to church and sing.  She was just a good person and will be greatly missed.
