Mary Alston Coleman

Mrs. Mary Alston Coleman, age 84 of Easton, PA, transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the home of her son Kevin Coleman.

Mary was born to Opal Haith and Willis Day on February 7, 1939, in Burlington, NC. She attended the public school in Burlington until she moved to Sanford, NC where she attended W. B. Wicker School graduating with the class of 1958. After graduating high school, she moved to New York where she met and married her husband Wilson Coleman. To this union 3 sons were born: Kevin, Wayne, and Craig (deceased).

While living in New York she was employed at New York Telephone for many years and later in life, she was employed as a Certified Personal Care Assistant.  She accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in New York at the Church of God in Christ. After the death of her husband, Mary moved back to Sanford in 2003 until 2008 where she joined Christian Provision Ministries.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was also a giving person.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son (Craig), her granddaughter (Shanee Vailes), her sister (Louise Wilkerson), and her brother (Ronnie Haith).

She leaves precious memories of her to her sons Kevin Coleman of Easton, PA, Wayne Coleman of Brooklyn, NY, granddaughter Latoya Vailes of NY, grandsons Craig Jr of FL, Samuel ofPA, and four great-grandchildren.  She also leaves three sisters: Barbara (James) Wilkerson, Brenda (Frank) Johnson of SC, and Mitzie Haith of Sanford, her aunt Elnora Heck of Sanford,  daughter-in-law Alina Coleman of PA and sister-in-law, Delois Haith of TX, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
