Marvinia Ruby McCormick was born July 20, 1955, to the Reverend Freeman Marvin Brooks and the late Ruby Jane Brooks. She peacefully left her early home September 1, 2025, to enter her eternal home.
Marvinia’s childhood education was in Sanford, North Carolina. She graduated from Sanford Central in Sanford, North Carolina.
Marvinia held the position as laundry aid and Housekeeper in the Westfield Rehabilitation and Health Center formerly known as the Convalescent Center Nursing Home where she served 20 years. She will always be remembered as a friendly and dedicated employee.
Marvinia remained great friends and stayed in touch with her former spouse John Lewis McCormick. His family was still much like her family. Marvinia attended Greater Zion Holy Temple United Holy Church of America, Inc. Marvinia loved the Lord, her family and church. Marvinia enjoyed going with her grandkids, daughter, and son in law to the local fair, carnivals and parades. Also enjoyed going with LCI to the state fair. Marvinia had pride in attending the Enrichment Center with her Father Rev. Freeman Brooks to grab a bite to eat from time to time. Marvinia loved doing things with her sister Minister Deloris Lee such as shopping, going to church, out to eat and in general just hanging out. Marvinia was entertained by the family holiday parties, having a blast with her father, daughter, son-in-law, sisters, nieces, nephew, and cousins. Marvinia never met a stranger. She was fun-loving, always smiling and is like a breath of fresh air for anyone she was around. Marvinia touched many lives with her sweet spirit, quiet nature, and loving personality.
