Martha Gayle (Morton) Paul

Mrs. Martha Gayle Paul, age 81, Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at her residence.

Gayle was born January 30, 1942 in Virginia Beach, Virginia to parents Joseph Paul Morton and Flora Gilmore Morton.

On October 30, 1971, Gayle married the love of her life JD Clifford (Cliff) Paul. They shared 44 years together until his passing. 

Gayle was a wonderful homemaker and a great cook. Everyone loved the chance to taste Gayle’s famous chocolate pies.

She has proceeded in death by husband, JD Clifford Paul, daughter, Pamela Renee Clark, grandson Cliff White, father, Joseph Paul Morton, mother Flora Gilmore  Morton, brother, Boyce Morton, sister, Mae Ward, brother Ronald Paul, and sister, Brenda Smith.

She is survived by: son, Jason D. Paul (Lori), stepson, Rodney Paul, stepdaughters, Christy Paul, Bonnie Paul Helvey, and Tracy Paul Robertson, grandson, Dustin White, granddaughter, Victoria Paul, great granddaughter, Kiley White, sister Elizabeth Wester and brother-in-law, Jimmy, brother, Johnny Morton, and sister-in-law Patricia. 

Per Gayle’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
