Martha Mae Fogle

Martha Mae Fogle, age 81 of 61 Traveller Ln., Sanford, NC passed on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Martha Mae Fogle aka: “Maude” was born on July 8, 1937 in Elloree, SC to the late Andrew Void Sr. and Jessie Pearl Hilliard Void. She departed this life on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at her home in Sanford, North Carolina.

Martha continued her life from Elloree, SC and ended in Bridgeport, CT, then retired in Sanford, NC. During her life she was a loving wife and mother, caring for a host of children and adults. She was the mother of Faith Hope Deliverance Christian Center and volunteered at MT. Sinai Community Center. Martha loved to cook, also enjoyed baking and sewing. She was known for her caramel cakes and homemade biscuits.

She attended the Santee School System, was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church during her lifetime where she remained until her last days on earth. Later in life she married the late James Fogle on March 13, 1954. From this union she was blessed with eight children.

She was preceded in death by one son, John “Johnny” Fogle (Deceased);  two sisters: Jessie Grant and Estelle Stewart; four brothers: Ernest Lee Void, Reuben Void, Andrew “Hank” Void and Hercules Void.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters: Geneva Garner (Gregory T. Garner), Debbie Fogle, Glory Fogle and Michelle Ballard (Donnell Ballard); her sons: James Lee Fogle (Michelle Fogle), Leon Fogle Sr. (Michelle N. Fogle), and Andrew N. Fogle (Kim Fogle); five sisters, Fannie M. Hill (Frederick) of Alphareta GA., Betty Baptista (Ferdinand) of Elgin, SC, Annette Void Bridgeport, CT;, Bessie P. Void of Columbia, SC and Catherine Johnson of Santee, SC; four brothers, John Void (Ernestine) of Milford, CT, J C Void (Caroline) of Columbia, SC, Roosevelt Void of West Haven, CT and Joseph Void of Milford, CT; seventeen grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will always love and remember her dearly.

Martha leaves us full of memories and words of wisdom that she would always give her children.
