Ms. Margaret Elaine Hunter, age 61, of Sanford, NC, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at her residence.

The Obituary

Margaret Elaine Hunter was born on March 17, 1963, in Sanford, NC to James and Louise Hunter. Margaret passed away after a brief illness on August 11, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Margaret received her diploma from Lee County High School in 1981. She was a dedicated employee of Shipman Family Care as a CNA, and loved caring for others until her health began to decline. Margaret was a woman of God and was a faithful member of Fountain of Life Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Warren Anderson. Although shy, she would frequently sing in the church choir.

Growing up as the only girl with several brothers, she wore many hats and could do just about all that they could do. Margaret loved to cook and was known around town as the “chiltling lady”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Louise; her brothers, James Lewis, Bobby, Edward, Varn Lee, and Redell.

Margaret was loved and anytime you saw her, you could feel the love she had for you.

She was a woman of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. Her unwavering spirit will forever be remembered.

She leaves her memories and love to her greatest gifts, her two sons, Clarence (Christine) and Marcus of the home; four grandchildren, whom she loved deeply, Markel of Washington, D.C., Ardell, Jontae, and Jasmine, all of Sanford, N.C.; three great grandchildren; three brothers, Ricky Hunter, James Reid, and James Foxx, all of Sanford, N.C.; a special friend, Dwayne Allen of Sanford, N.C., a special niece who loved and cared for her to the end, Barsha Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
