Ms. Margaret Marie Dashnaw, age 78, of Pittsboro, NC entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Parkview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Chapel Hill, NC.
Margaret Marie Dashnaw flew up to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 16, 2024. She was surrounded by both her children and sister with all their love on her journey.
Meg, as she was called by her friends and family, and Mema, by her grandchildren, dedicated her life to offering support and assistance to others.
During her teen years, she loved boating with her family. During her college years, she loved horseback riding. Growing up, she was a strong swimmer and use that talent to be a lifeguard for Town of Hempstead, Levittown Pools in New York.
As a young adult and mother, she originally worked for IBM in New York until she found her calling by working for the Office of the Aging, Prospect Child and Family Center, Queensbury School District, and lastly with the Glens Falls School District where she was the secretary for the special education department prior to her retirement. She had incredible typing skills that was admired by everyone she worked with and could capture meetings like no other. Her work ethic was unparalleled.
She was a longtime member of Church of The Messiah (Glens Falls) where she volunteered as a teacher's aide and supported her children in the church choir and numerous Christmas plays.
When able, she loved fishing, hiking, and bike riding with her family. She also loved visiting her extended family and walking along the boardwalk at Jones Beach. She loved going on Sunday drives with her children, apple and potato picking and loved all of her fur babies.
Her idol and love was for Elvis, listening and dancing to all of his music and looking through many books with his pictures. She also loved Patrick Swayze and hung a poster of him near her.
She was predeceased in life by her first husband, Arthur F. Esposito, second husband, Daniel R. Dashnaw, mother, Phebe Stouges, and father, Wesley Radcliffe.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Everest (Jason); son, Arthur Esposito (Stacey); seven grandchildren whom she loved fiercely, Menley, Molly, Emmett and Benny Everest and Bryce, Ashton and Pearce Esposito; and one sister, Jessica Daniels (Edgar).
The family will celebrate her life at a later time.
