Margaret Ann (Sellers) Buie

Ms. Margaret Ann Buie, age 82, of Sanford, NC transitioned to eternal rest on Friday, December 27, 2024, at her residence. 

Margaret Ann Sellers Buie was born on November 26, 1942 to the late Toney and Hattie Sellers in Cheraw, South Carolina. She entered into peaceful rest when “God” said your work is done.

“Ma” or “Aunt Margaret” as she was called by so many was a loving, caring and faithful Christian. Her parents had twelve children, seven boys and five girls. She grew up in Broadway and Sanford, NC and attended NC Public Schools.

Margaret was married to the late John H. Buie, Jr. She was an awesome mother of six children. She loved her family, and they loved her. She met no strangers and would help anyone in need. She was a babysitter for her family, friends and even strangers. Her love for everyone was unconditional “love.” She had so many kids and grandkids she did not birth but helped to raise. She loved the Lord. She believed that what God gives to you, he also wants you to share with others. Mrs. Margaret was an inspirational role model for her family and friends to follow.

She attended Mt. Pisgah Lee where she was a licensed Mother of the church. She was a faithful member until health issues slowed her down.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Buie; ten siblings, six brothers, and four sisters.

She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories; two daughters, Vivian Ann Buie of the home, and Patricia Sellers of Sanford, NC; three sons, Kelby Buie (Sharyn) of Broadway, NC, Ricky Sellers (Sharon) of Sanford, NC, and Ronnie Buie (Tonya) of Sanford NC; one sister, Delois Mclaughlin (Lawrence) of Sanford, NC; one brother Johnny Sellers (Sonya) of Siler City, NC; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She also leaves her best friend and riding partner, Mother Covington.
