Margaret Ann (McLean) Baker

Ms. Margaret Ann McLean Baker, age 71, of Sanford NC transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at her residence.

Ms. Margaret Ann McLean Baker was born October 30, 1949, to the late Sadie McLean McLeod and Staley Watson. She transitioned from life to eternal rest at her home on May 13, 2021, at the age of 71.

She was united in holy matrimony in 1971 to the love of her life, Allen Baker Jr. To this union three sons were born. She was educated and attended W.B. Wicker School. Throughout her lifetime, she worked numerous jobs. She was employed with the Lee County Jail until her health started declining. 

Margaret affectionately known as Ann to the family was the eldest sister everyone looked up to. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and auntie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sadie M. McLeod and Staley Watson, brothers Gilbert McLeod Jr. and Robert McLean.

Ann leaves to cherish her memories: her husband Allen Baker Jr., sons Michael Baker (Kamilah), Darnell Baker, both of Sanford, NC; Sherman Baker (Mark) of West Virginia. Grandchildren: Kayla, Khloe, Kaiya, Kalvyn, Kristian, Machiah, Zarianna, and Maxton; four sisters: Mary McLean, Betty McLean, Patricia Miles (John), and Myrtle Buie, all of Sanford, NC; two brothers: Jackie McLean (Marsha), and  Jimmie McLean of Sanford, NC; brother-in-law Eddie Baker of Sanford, NC; sisters-in-law; Gail Gilchrist of Sanford, NC, Doris McComb of Colorado Springs, CO, and Alice Johnson of Las Vegas, NV. Also a host of nieces and nephews, along with many close friends.

She will be sadly missed.
