In Loving Memory of Marcella (Wofford) Brower, affectionately known as "Mawk"

Marcella (Wofford) Brower, fondly known as "Mawk," was born to the late Olaster Thomas and Cora Kathleen Wofford in Lee County, Sanford, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Delois Peoples and Mary Wofford. Marcella attended Chatham County Schools and was known for her infectious laughter and her joyful spirit that brought warmth to everyone she encountered. 

A God-Sent Heart Named "Mawk" 

Marcella had a heart full of love, compassion, and a boundless dedication to her family and those around her. She spent her life as a caregiver, selflessly tending to the elderly and individuals with cognitive and physical impairments. Her gentle hands and kind words made a world of difference to those in her care, treating each person as family. Even as her own health challenges arose, she continued to encourage and uplift others, with a smile that could light up any room. 

To know Marcella was to absolutely love her. Her spirit and humor were gifts that blessed all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. 

Marcella leaves cherished memories with her two sons, Gregory Brower (Tina) and Darren Brower (Niya); seven grandchildren, Gregory Brower Jr., Jonathan Brower, Morris Brower, Ryan Brower, K-Shawn Brower, Shamika Brower, and Aaliyha Brower; fifteen great-grandchildren; a dear sister, Lena (Charles) Cotten; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her memory will also be treasured by many other relatives, friends, and those whose lives she touched so deeply.
