Mamie Lee (French) Nettles

Ms. Mamie Lee French Nettles, age 62 of Sanford NC transitioned into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC.

Mamie Lee French Nettles was born June 25, 1959, to the late Lula Mae Mitchell French and Pete French. She transitioned from this life on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

She attended Central High School where she received her high school diploma. Mamie had a passion for taking care of people at a young age. She later went back to school and earned an associate degree in Early Childhood; It didn’t stop there. She also became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She cared for so many, and to know her was to know how smart, funny, loving, compassionate, hardworking, strong she was and if need be, she told you what was on her mind. She was beautiful inside and out.

She touched many hearts and was loved by many. She always tried to help anybody she could and would even give the shirt off her back if you needed it. She had a heart of gold. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Pete French and loving mother, Lula Mae Mitchell French; paternal grandparents, Henderson and Laura Mae Scurlock French; maternal grandparents, Wiley Mitchell and Mamie Brown; an infant brother; her son, Christopher Lamont French; two sisters, Wanda Marie McLean and Devera Ann French.

Mamie leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Latoya (Wade); Melissa French, and Barbara French; four sisters, Marilyn French, Cynthia French, Lessie French and Pandora Johnson (Vernon) all of Sanford, North Carolina; thirteen grandchildren, Kiana, Keosha, Latrice, Shaniyah, Kadijah, Ke’Aundria, Kishauna, Areauna, Kira, NaQuan, TyShaun, Tyree and Sincere; two great grandchildren, Messiah and Chandler; a special niece and nephew, Deborah James and Lynn French; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
