Mr. Louis Lee Davis, age 71 of Fayetteville, NC transitioned into eternal rest on April 11, 2021, at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC.
Louis was born March 7, 1950, at Lee County Hospital in Sanford, North Carolina to Annie Davis Watson who preceded him in death.
Louis attended Johnsonville Elementary/High School in Cameron, North Carolina until 1966. He graduated from Benhaven High School in Olivia, North Carolina in 1968. He entered the military in 1969 and served in the Vietnam War. After his tour of duty in Vietnam, he was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he was assigned to a Special Forces unit. After serving twenty years in the United States Army, he retired in 1989. He worked for the Eaton Corps in Fayetteville for 23 years (1990-2013).
While serving our country, he met his wife, Susie. They were married on October 27, 1984, and blessed with thirty-five years of marital bliss. Louis became a member of Love Grove AME Zion Church where he was an enthusiastic supporter.
Louis leaves to mourn his wife Susie of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one son Eric Davis of Sanford; one step-son Lee Davis of Fayetteville, two grandchildren; Queen and Shaka of Oceans Springs Mississippi; one sister Shelia Davis of Greensboro; three brothers Wayne (Rosie) Davis of Sanford, Nelson (Sylvia) Davis of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Rodney (Carmen) Watson of San Antonio, Texas. Four uncles; Norman (Ula) Davis of Winston-Salem, Ellis (Dorothy) Davis, Warren (Wintsel) Davis, Norman (Ula), Gerard (Peggy)Davis, all of Sanford. Two aunts; Verlene Burks and Betty Davis of Sanford. Mother-in-law, Eva Harper of Georgia; five brothers-in-law, Willie (Burnell) and Charlie Harper of Sparta Georgia, Tommy and Leroy Harper of Atlanta, Georgia, Timothy Harper of Eatonton, Georgia; four sisters-in-law; Lillie Ingram of Atlanta, Georgia, Sally Zeigler and Carolyn (George) Patterson of Columbia, South Carolina, and Amigene Harper of Sparta, Georgia. A host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, family, and friends.
