Ms. Lisa Renee Roberts, age 57 of Sanford, NC transitioned to eternal rest on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
The Obituary
On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, God in His infinite wisdom dispatched His angels to Wake Med Medical Center to take His servant, Lisa Renee Roberts from labor to reward.
Lisa was born on June 18, 1966, to John Ralph and Lucille Martin Roberts.
Lisa received her formal education in the Queens, NY public school system. She continued her education graduating from the State University of New York, New Paltz College with a degree in Business Administration.
Lisa was an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. She was a highly intelligent, quick witted, and sometimes a high maintenance kind of woman. Lisa loved God, her family, and friends, both immediate and extended.
Lisa loved life: She enjoyed traveling with family and friends both domestically and internationally. A few highlights of her trips were to Australia where she met and had a conversation with Lawrence Fishburn. South Africa was another highlight where she visited the jail where Nelson Mandella spent time and enjoyed eating and taking a cooking class on an authentic African dinner. She was also a member of the Sisters Rising Book Club for 17 years.
Lisa loved God: Upon leaving New York after college graduation, she relocated to San Francisco, California briefly and later to Oakland. She joined Acts Full Gospel church and worked in the training and teaching ministry. Lisa moved to NC in 2003 to be closer to her parents who had retired and returned to Sanford, NC.
Lisa loved Family: She immersed herself in all family celebrations, especially the annual Family Reunion where she would invite her friends to share in the festivities.
Lisa Renee Roberts became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. in the Alpha Nu Chapter on April 28, 1986, while pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration on the campus of S.U.N.Y College at New Paltz which is located in New Paltz, New York. While in college, Lisa held various leadership positions and served on many committees. She truly exemplified the core principles of: Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood. When Lisa moved to Raleigh, NC she would resume her membership in 2017 with the Omicron Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She was so committed that she would serve on the Sorority's Founder's Day Committee even up until she was Hospitalized. Lisa was loved by all of the Sorors that she came in contact with. She will be truly missed. ---"Z-Phi"--"So Sweet!!"
After graduating from the State University of New York, New Paltz with a B.S. in Business Administration. Lisa began her career at one of the top software companies in the United States, Oracle Inc. Lisa quickly rose through the ranks to become a Senior Manager of ERP Applications. From there she continued to grow her career at Broadvision Inc.as the Director of Training for the Americas Division.
After relocating to North Carolina from California, Lisa continued to expand her career by becoming an independent Oracle consultant for various organizations like iGATE and Titan Technologies Partners. From there she moved on to Rockwell Automation, as a Sr. Application Engineer of the Life Sciences Division. Lisa’s career culminated with her position at the Alzheimer’s Association as the Executive Director, Eastern North Carolina Chapter, where she served for more than 14 years.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Martin Roberts.
Lisa’s leaves to cherish her memory her father, John Ralph of Sanford, NC, two brothers Ray Roberts (Francis), and Darrel Bucha Roberts (Joy) of Sanford, NC and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and friends.
